Account Setup
Create your Distill account and configure your profile.
Distill uses email and password based authentication. Keep your password safe and secure!
Create your account
- Go to distill.ink/signup.
- Enter your email address and your password
- Agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
- Click "Create Account" to get started.
You will need to go to your inbox to verify your email address before continuing. Click the Verification link in your email.
The link opens the Distill dashboard where you can set up your first workspace.
Set your Organization name
After logging in for the first time:
- You will be prompted automatically to set your organization name
- You will then be prompted to create your (first) workspace, you may want to call it "newsletters" if this is your only workspace, or name it for your client/department/brand if you will have multiple workspaces
- Click, "Go to dashboard"
What's included in the free plan
Your account starts on the free plan automatically. The free plan includes:
- Full access to the newsletter editor and AI link summarization
- Up to 100 subscribers per workspace
- Up to 20 links per month
- Distill shared sending domain for testing
No credit card is required to create an account or use the free plan.
You can upgrade to a paid plan at any time by clicking your avatar at the bottom of the sidebar, then select Billing. For a full comparison of plans, see the pricing page.
Organization vs workspace
When you create your account, Distill automatically creates an organization tied to your email. The organization is your billing entity — it's where your subscription and payment details live.
Inside your organization, you create one or more workspaces. Each workspace represents a distinct newsletter brand or client. See Workspace Setup for details on creating your first workspace.
Logging in on future visits
To log in to Distill on future visits:
- Go to distill.ink/login.
- Enter your email address and password.
- Click Log in.
Sessions are long-lived, so you typically stay logged in between visits unless you explicitly sign out.
Appearance and dark mode
Distill supports Light, Dark, and System (follows your OS) themes. To change the theme:
- Click your avatar at the bottom of the sidebar.
- Find the Appearance control in the account menu.
- Select Light, Dark, or System.
The System option automatically matches your operating system's light or dark mode preference.
